GHE - MICRO ENTERPRISE STARTUP SUPPORT INITIATIVE (MESSI)
GREATER BANJUL AREA
Gambia Horticultural Enterprise (GHE) in partnership with GIZ through the ECOWAS Fund for Regional Stabilization and Development ( FRSD ) –
The Gambia Pilot Project is implementing the Community Outreach and Beneficiary Mobilization for Agriculture Value Chain Promotion through access to finance (Greater Banjul Area).
Candidates are thus invited to apply for support in any of these three Agricultural Value Chain Programmes:
• Horticulture • Fisheries • Poultry
TARGET GROUP
Individual, Youth, including women, migrant returnees, aged 18 to 35 years.
Local Economic Interest Groups of 5 to 10 members aged 16 to 35 years.
Groups (Medium – size) such as Producer Associations, Young Farmers Associations, Women Associations, etc. of not more than 20 members.
Women engaged in fisheries value chain may be up to 50 years old.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Applicants are required to: – Reside or have business operations in Greater Banjul Area (GBA). – Startups, MSMEs, Economic Operators in the three value chains, Returnees and Female Candidates are encouraged to apply. – Value Addition (Processing) Projects are given preference. Complete and submit the MESSI Starter Kit Application Form. – Must be Gambian with proof of experience and / or training in the selected value chain or willing to attend NACCUG Skills training before grant is disbursed. – Must identify a Gambian Guarantor willing to co – sign the application form and promissory note upon receipt of starter kit. – Participants who benefitted from other grants such as TEKKI – FII, YEP, NACCUG, etc are not eligible to apply. – Due deligences will be conducted for all approved applications. |
